課程概述

This course is for beginners. The students would learn all the 4 skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) of Chinese Language.

課程目標

1.熟悉漢語拼音。(be familiar with Hanyu Pinyin.)
2.學生能讀、寫正體字。(Know how to read and write traditional Chinese characters.)
3.「聽、說」能力達各課標準。(Listening and speaking ability reach the level required.)
4.習得處理日常生活事務的基本表達能力，如能得體使用華語等。(Learn how to use proper Chinese to express him/herself and communicate with others.)

課程要求

1. 上課中請勿使用手機或其他電子產品。(也請勿放在桌上)。
No cell phone, electronic dictionary and any other electronic devices are allowed in class. (Do not put them on the desk.)
2. 專心聽講，勿交頭接耳。
Full attention is required, no chatting in class
3. 上課一定要帶課本，作業簿和上課講義。
Be sure to bring textbook, workbooks and handouts to class.
4. 尊重同學的發言權和受教權。
Respect classmates’ right to speak and the right of learning.

1.	出席Class Attendance	20%	(1) 每堂課遲到或早退20分鐘以上，即算缺席一小時。 It is considered to be one-hour absence if you are late for class 20 minutes and more, or leave the class more than 20 minutes earlier. (2) 每缺席1小時，扣出席成績2分。因病無法出席，但有醫師診斷證明者，不予扣分。 For every hour of absence, 2 attendance points will be deducted. If you are unable to attend due to illness but have a doctor's diagnosis certificate, no points will be deducted (3) 每個學生一學期可缺席4次，一共8小時，不予扣分。這8個小時包括遲到、早退與參加ICL活動。從第9個小時開始，每缺席1小時，就扣出席成績2分。 Each student can be absent 4 times in one semester, totaling 8 hours, without penalty. These 8 hours include arriving late, leaving early, and participating in ICL activities. Starting from the 9th hour, 2 points will be deducted for every hour of absence.
2.	課堂練習、課後作業 In class exercise and after class homework	30%	作業必須在老師指定日內交回，遲交一天扣10分。 All assignments have to be turned in on time. 10 points will be deducted for late submission each day.
3.	3. 平時考Tests	30%	(1) 平時考包括聽寫與複習考，兩項成績各佔平時考的50%。 Tests includes dictation (50%) and review test (50%）。 (2) 每次上課都有聽寫小考。因故沒參加考試，不能補考。 There will be a dictation every time we have class. No make-up quiz will be given. (3) 這個學期一共有5次複習考。因故無法參加考試者，必須在考試後三天內完成補考，補考最高為80分。 There will be 5 review tests this semester. Students are allowed to take a make-up test if he/she is absent on the test day. For those who take the make-up test need to do the test within 3 days after the test day, and he/she can only get maximum 80 points for the make-up test.
4.	期末考	20%	期末考試包括筆試（60%）及口試（40%）。若因故無法參加，可補考，但口試不能補考。 The final exam include written test（60%）and oral test（40%）。Student can take the make-up test if he/she is unable to come to the test, but the make-up test will not contain oral test.
